Something different…

By Venayvonne · Comments (0)

My friend makes these incredible dimensional glass flowers for her stained glass panels she sells. I’ve been in total awe of them since she showed them to me. I wanted to translate those flowers into wearable art. This is my first attempt at doing just that. I’m really pleased with how this necklace came out. It is stunning around the neck with its lime green Turquoise, Mother of Pearl and Sterling Silver beads.  I hope you like it. I think I will continue refining this process and creating more flowers to wear!!

This necklace is available for purchase at my Artfire Studio. Just click on the photo and it will take you to my studio.

This is a picture I took yesterday afternoon around 5:30 PM  from our house. This storm produced numerous funnel clouds and reported tornados. This was one of the meanest looking storms I had seen in years. It was almost like it was growling at us.

Long day…..

By Venayvonne · Comments (2)

It has been a very long day. I’m just drained. I didn’t sleep well last night worrying over my daughter’s surgery today. She had a full hysterectomy bright and early this morning. Everything is going well for her. She’s at home and in pain, but that will pass. I’m just so happy it’s over and she is safe.

When I got home from the hospital I opened my kiln up to the set of beads I’ve listed on Ebay tonight. I think you can tell from their name I was tired. Who names a set of beads “This & That”? I do….lol. When I put the set together the name really seemed appropriate. This is a really cute set of beads. I don’t do too many beads this style so they were a nice change of pace for me. You can click on the picture to be taken directly to the auction.

I have beads in the kiln so tomorrow I should have a new set up. I’ll talk to you then.

It seems like it has been weeks since I last posted. The past month has been one from hell for me. I’ve had a lingering (two month old) sinus infection that has played havoc with me and my life. Nothing is worse than constant pain in your head and dizziness. I think I’m back on the road to recovery now. I finally found a doctor who put me on my third round of anitbiotics. The difference is these seem to be working. The first two rounds did absolutely nothing to help. My head doesn’t feel like its ready to explode and the proverbial icepick has been removed from my left temple. I still have 6 more days of antibiotics to take so I’m hoping I’ll feel even better six days from now. I literally feel like I’ve been walking around in a fog for a month or so.  My creative thoughts are coming back and I’m anxious to get back to work. I’ve been having to limit my time at the torch because of the infection. Hours of looking down when you have a sinus infection is not good. Your whole brain starts to hurt and before you know it you can’t even think much less think creatively, not to mention the dizziness. It’s a wonder I didn’t set myself on fire…lol.

Tomorrow starts a new week and I’m ready to go back to work………………………..
